We're fuelling our Colombian addiction with this new addition!
Gaitania is located 40km southwest of the remote Planadas of the Tolima department. Well recognized by the specialty coffee industry, coffees grown from this region are known to be citric and very fruity.
Produced by small growers in Gaitania, Tolima, about 70% of this coffee is grown by the indigenous community "Nasa Wesx". They live in different indigenous territories in Cauca, Huila, and Tolima. This community has been part of the ASOPEP Farmers Cooperative since 2014, and with their support, are now certified organic coffee producers.
Cool temperatures of 16 to 22 degrees Celsius and high altitudes allow for coffee trees to slowly develop, resulting in a balanced coffee with excellent acidity, tropical fruity flavours with peach-like juiciness, a touch of vanilla and a light cacao aftertaste.
